The Universal Ritual Artwork {TURA} is an ongoing series of works exploring the inherent power of synthesised multi-sensory aesthetics.
‘Transmigrations’, thematically explores the afterlife concept of soul migration. It gives audiovisual form to a belief that the essence of an individual lifeform moves between animate forms in a transitional phase between the death of one and re-birth another, as in reincarnation. This transitional journey metaphorically embodies the anthropological concept of liminality in rites of passage.
This work fits into a three-part ritual-like structure to symbolise the second liminal phase; a period of transformation between an old way of knowing and a new form, yet to come. It is a stage of uncertainty, danger, risk of death, recreation and purification and sits between an initial separation and final reintegration phase.
