The Universal Ritual Artwork {TURA} is an ongoing series of works exploring varieties of transformation through ritual-like experiences.
‘World Delusion’ thematically addresses living as an imposed consumer in a capitalist world. The audiovisual work takes a culture jamming form to highlight obvious and covert elements of a social system engineered to enslave the bulk of humanity, and to protect a minuscule, controlling elite minority.
This piece is intended to feature as a separation work in a three-part ritual-like structure, where it may be used to intentionally alienate willing participants. It would be followed by another thematically linked liminal piece to assist reconfiguration of some sense of identity, before a third and final part reintegrates the participant into a new understanding of themselves and/or the world.
